I just got a stack of fairly recent (i.e. released in the last year or so) 12"s on the Payola label, and combined with my previous Payola purchases, I'm wondering if I have a complete collection. Here's what I have so far... PAYOLA A - Console 12" PAYOLA A2 - Console "Panorama" CD PAYOLA A4 - Console "Rocket In The Pocket" CD PAYOLA B - Blond 12" PAYOLA B2 - Blond CD PAYOLA B3 - Blond 12" PAYOLA C - Snowe 12" PAYOLA D - Schneider TM 12" PAYOLA E - Kammerflimmer Kollektief 12" PAYOLA F - Tied & Tickled Trio CD PAYOLA F2 - Tied & Tickled Trio remix 12" PAYOLA G1 - Fuschimuschi 12" PAYOLA I1 - B Recordings "Mount Mitchum" 12" PAYOLA K1 - Hometrainer "Tips for Professional Drilling" 12" PAYOLA L1 - Marsmobil 12" Based on the numbering (or rather lettering) pattern, I'm guessing that I'm missing something by Console (release A3) and releases by at least two other artists (H1 and J1). Any tips on these releases and where to get them would be greatly appreciated. One can argue that all music revolves around math. The first western musical theory was documented by Pythagoreas and involved calculating mathematical ratios between two notes to construct a scale. It gets really weird after that, with people constructing mathematical charts of the universe with music as the root...but anyway that's all from a book called Measure for Measure by Thomas Levenson. Autechre on the other hand might use math in any way they see fit. It would probably be the best idea to ask them instead of all us list bots. I would assume that they synthesize their own sounds digitally, some people have mentioned that they use (or have used) Csound, which is very math intensive. That's all I can really say without rambling for hours. If you want me to, just ask, cause i always can... in obscurity, lee
