various arguments have been given: the artist is not really happy with it, theres no demand, etc, etc...personally, i believe it will happen....probably later than sooner...

No, actually, I enjoy it rather a lot. Anyone who samples from David Byrne's _Catherine_Wheel_ is OK by me! I think I would like it more if it wasn't quite as cacophonic, and I don't think it's better than _68_Million_Shades....._, but it's still a solid disc. Plenty more jazzy mind-bending riddims. -- Adam J Weitzman -- Individual, Inc. -- http://www.individual.com -- "We need your fax number in order to respect your wishes not to receive unsolicited faxes." - a Microsoft registration screen

Even though I don't like carrying on about what sucks (because we all have opinions)- that Spring Heel Jack shit is weak. I would strongly urge anyone even remotely interested in giving it a serious listen before shelling the cash. They were incorporating melody into cacophany but in the process losing both. david

I must be getting old. Where was the Catherine Wheel sample?

I strongly disagree. I spent Thanksgiving driving around The Sprawl listening to BCT and There Are Strings (thank god for rentacars w/ cassette decks!). I've still got BCT playing in my head this morning. I think the Avant tracks break up the flow of the album a bit and are more difficult to feel or understand than the others (3 & 4 in particular), but I left those off the tape. So far it's getting better & better w/ repeated listenings, unlike 68MS, in which my interest has diminished, or Versions, which I'm still trying to get my teeth into. BCT is not easy to listen to, but its angularness appeals to me, strongly. Give it a listen, but don't expect to get it on the 1st listen. Like Autechre, there's subtlety here that requires repeated listenings to unfold. CHe
