here are the dates for the sneaker pimps tour from the virgin webpage. i think aphex is playing at most, if not all, of these dates. haven't confirmed the full schedule with HQ yet but these dates gell with some of the ones i have heard from them. i'm sure warp-net will have something to say about this this week and the full organic line-up is supposed to be announced before the week is out. poor richard, he's going to be a busy geezer...

other threads in circulation.... cd vs. viynl: cd is good. viynl is good. hey, it's all good. once the archives are up again i'm going to paste together a big text file with every post on this subject over the last 6 months and when this thread turns up again i'm going to swamp the fucking list with it. Ab5: don't think this will ever turn up but you never know. don't know how cool it is to put the whole thing up considering your are potentially eating into rephlex's future earnings. whatever. isophlux: the metal beast ep is one of the best 12's i've heard in a while. look for it or order one from shad, it's fucking really amazingly good. Nice job, beast. gescom cd: duhhh...like this is not cool. these records are still in print - you want to take money from rob & sean's pockets? they are not billionaries and they need to pay the rent like everyone else. I can understand if you want to make cd-r's of stuff that is long out of print and never likely to be re-released but you can pick these up at the local store. If you don't have a record player tough titties - stop whining and buy one. damn. hugs and kisses, _____ / ,-,_) /,_) (/ ReSH Live & Direct from the G-Spot, Orange County, California, USA http://www1.linkonline.net/fresh/

Just a note of caution- I've been to shows where Mr. James was solicited to be the opener or at least somewhere in the line-up (Bjork tour of 95 eg.). Needless to say I was quite stoked that I was going to be able to see Bjork and Aphex in one setting. The lights go down, the crowd gets pumped up and what do we get, but a fucking dat tape of stuff he mixed for the first 30 minutes of the show. No Richard in sight. So, I thought, well maybe he's hidden down below somewhere and will surface at some point. No surfacing. So, after the entire concert was over, I thought maybe he'll be playing upstairs in the back room for a cool chill-out/experimental set. NOPE. The bastard didn't even show up.! Later, I found out through other friends around the country that he didn't appear at any of those shows either. I don't know about you, but when your name goes on the flyer and you've been booked to perform, I think you should actually make a physical appearance! I'm sorry, but playing a tape for an audience who have paid to see your perform doen't cut it. Otherwise, I would have stayed home and played/mixed my own set of trax from him. Maybe I'm asking too much. Anyway, if you go to the Sneaker Pimps show just to see Mr. James, don't count on him being there. Go because you like the Sneaker Pimps (They're much better live anyway). You've been warned. bEn Synaptic Records (Rick and Ben) 608 S. Broadway Denver, CO 80209 (303) 722-9428 (phone) (303) 722-9540 (fax) synaptic@eazy.net www.eazy.net/synaptic-records/

Not true, dude. I have a picture of him somewhere djing at one of the bjork shows from behind the drum riser. He had some weird looking gear with him too besides the two tables. He just kept it on the down low. I think at some of the shows he did his set from the dressing room. I have a tape of one of the sets and it's fucking wicked. It's like a bunch of twisted exotica and Moog Indigoesque tracks finished off by Mashed Taydeez and a UI Green track. I'm pretty sure he's playing live though at the sneaker pimps dates. love, _____ / ,-,_) /,_) (/ ReSH Live & Direct from the G-Spot, Orange County, California, USA http://www1.linkonline.net/fresh/

Well, I suppose he may have been hiding somewhere in the building, but I agree with Ben that you can at least show your face if you're on the bill. Plus, the stuff he played (or the tape he sent, or whatever) for the Bjork concert in Portland was crap. Anyway, I really do hope he is playing live at the Sneakerpimps show -- saw them here in Denver a while ago and it was a great show -- would be even better if RDJ would show up and do some interesting stuff. i agree with this if you have been booked, but i've seen cases where confirmation has yet to happen and the flyer is already on the street. this is bad form and i don't anticipate this happening though with the dark prince (rdj) of techno. for the D.C. show at the 9:30 club aphex is listed at the top and sneaker pimps are at the bottom of the bill (online ad at http://www.930.com/shows/index.cgi?op=search&Status=1|2|3|5|6|7|8|9|10&|6|7|8|9| 10&|6|7|8|9|10&Venue=2). so who's headlining? btw, any other D.C. idm'ers going to this?
