Sorry in advance to any who care not for the following desperate plea for help: MultSanta's RealAudio of Annalogue Bubblebath V is in new of a second ftping site... Why? My provider has a 200 meg transfer cap per day. The RealAudio file on the ftp site alone has caused the transfer rate to jump from well under that to 350+ for the last few days. This transfer rate doesn't include the streaming of the any of the realaudio that I put up for people (MultSanta, 4th World, Millard Fillmore, Fresh, very soon more =) Unfortunately, they charge $5 a day for every 100 megs over the cap. I don't mind keeping the file up for a few more days and taking the fine... these things happen and its all good. But if anyone could provide a second (third, fourth, etc) site that might take some of the heat from the wild demand for this, even just for a day or two until the demand went down a bit (the stats today were still really high... you're all insane for this thing =) I'd really appreciate it, as if the fine does run up too high, I will have to take it down (which would be a damn shame). Sorry, if it was any other month, I'd dish the $ out for you guys but this month the 5 year old I live with turns 6 and we're tossing her a big ole bash and I'm buying her a stereo from hell so she can listen to her Squirrel Zipper Nut peoples, Caustic Window track, Current 93, and Disney sing-along stuff in the peaceful insanity she calls her room (she really flips for the above mentioned stuff... you should see her go INSANE to that Caustic track on the Outer Space Communications cd or the really crazed way she screams 'Beausoleil' when listening to C93... she's out there =) ANYWAYS... 2nd account next week and all will be good then... If anyone does put the file up for downloading, please let the appropriate folks like MultSanta, me and such know so links can be added... thanks to any who help out... Its greatly appreciated... Howdy, fellow IDM'ers... <brap@sonic.net> has placed a copy of the Analogue Bubblebath 5 on my machine...hook up with it at: http://kraanerg.apex-it.com/idm/ab5.ra or even ftp://kraanerg.apex-it.com/idm/ab5.ra I've also made a RealAudio metafile for it, which might actually let you stream it off. Just tack an ``m'' onto the end of either of those URL's. I'm not sure why it works...but it does. If anybody else wants some free space on my machine, let me know. Also lemme know if you have problems with these URL's. Spreading Aphex far and wide, awk -- Alexander@Kourakos.com

i've noticed that if you use the http scheme instead of the pnm shceme in the "Open Location..." dialog (in Real Audio or Real Player) and point to a .ra. or a .ram you can get a stream without the Real Audio server. i'm not sure why this works either, but it does. btw, thanks to MultSanta(?) for doing the .ra file. ----- Daniel Kapusta - Info Systems Manager and Webmaster - dan@sfn.org

they made it work on purpose. mainly to compete with shockwave audio, is my guess. shockwave streams over http and requires no special server (of course you need to pay macromedia for the authoring tools). realaudio decided to go them one better. you can set up a real audio streaming site for free. the encoder is free and you don't need anything other than a web server (use apache, it's free too). check out http://sticky.bud.com/, all done for essentially no cost. i even wrote a shell script to take the track of the audio CD, encode it and set up the real audio metafiles so i can make tracks for the archive while i work. -- Jon Drukman jsd@gamespot.com SpotMedia Communications ...I was an infinitely hot and dense dot...

Ditto: http://www.holon.com.au/qforce/ab5.ram Plus the BDO Concert of course: http://www.holon.com.au/qforce/aphex.ram And what's this?!?! a hidden high bandwidth "pick of the week" page too? Cool! It works all the way up to dual ISDN... http://www.holon.com.au/pick/ I'm also happy to stream Henrik Andersson's plaid stuff (if he doesn't mind)...
