Dear IDM'ers, OFRA HAZA - R. I. P. 23rd February 2000 As you may know, the respected Yemenite artist Ofra Haza passed away tonight, at 19:40 Israeli time, 23rd February. She had been in intensive care in Hospital for the last week or so, suffering from pneumonia. Ofra was a unique and stunning artist, a voice that was truly incomparable. I'm sure you'll agree, the world is a less beautiful place without her. We felt honoured to have worked with her. I also found out today that Al Nelson - vocalist on the Skinny Puppy side project Hilt - passed away earlier this month from complications due to diabetes. He was my upstairs neighbour for a while in the early 90s and was a super nice guy. Quite a shock and shame to hear about his death. that must be really tough on cevin key (also hilt). after Dwayne Goettel's death in '95 and now this. that is definetely not bright news for key or for the innovative music community. jf
