advertising love the debate about advertising (fuck knows what it's got to do with dance music) - i work in it so i guess i'm an "asshole" - anyway, a thought: advertising is being taken too seriously these days, people judge it more on fact (ie. advertising as "newspaper/tv news broadcast") instead of on entertainment (ie. advertising as mini "tv show/movie") which is what it should be judged on as that is what advertising has to compete with these days - it's called competing for people's attention with something which is, intrinsically, not that important (ie. an ad is not a news item) - an ad (admittedly a tv ad) is only as good as the programs on either side of it (hence, in the states the nissan "toys" ad with g.i.joe was the best ad of last year imho) - cheers for now, iain (a scottish advertising asshole who now works in new york after having got bored with "the coolest city in the world" - if you believe the hype - aka london) ps. i do know what it's got to do with dance music, i was just being facetious (which, i believe, is the only word in the english dictionary with all 5 vowels in the right order - that is, "a, e, i, o, u")

Ah, no, come on... you should know it's Utrecht, Holland that's the coolest city in this world... (feeling a bit chauvinist today) Allert, straight outta Utrecht ******************************************************* "soulful techno, ambient dance & deep jungle" (.gonzales) The Other Side - Every Thursday from 24.00 - late Arena, Utrecht (onder het stadhuis, ingang aan de werf) -------------------------------------------- Quality Music until the money runs out -------------------------------------------- comments & questions to allert@knoware.nl *******************************************************

Maybe it's that some ads are more entertaining than the "entertainment". I taped the SuperBowl this year, fastforwarded through the game and watched the ads. Good thing, otherwise I would have missed the hilarious Holiday Inn sex change ad, and the oh so enticing Fifth Element trailer. Anyway, OB IDM: Is it just me, or does the music in the Corian commercial sound like the beginning of a drum&bass track? Hard to tell, the rhythms are mixed low and I have a shit TV. Che
