dancefloor. "Shout",ABBA, and the entire soundtrack from Sat.Night Fever move more ppl on more d-floors in the world than DJ Icee will ever hope to. What does that say? Anyway, ppl like him have to be prolific to keep staying alive(oohh!whatapun;), & music should be timeless, not here today and gone tomorrow. It should 4evr blow your mind, leave you breathless&gobsmacked, &in complete wonderment of it's existence. It's about the creativity that inspires originality. It's no wonder as to how Icee, et.al.like him, made what he did.HEY DJ-QUIT SUPPORTIN' SUCH MEDIOCRITY THAT WE NO LONGER RECOGNIZE EXCELLENCE!

EH? If what you mean, is that most ppl only have a superficial relationship with the music they're dancing to, then i agree. I.e. the "it has a beat that i can dance to" mentality. However, some ppl who take music a little more seriously only take formula following artists as seriously as "TECHNO TECHNO TECHNO TECHNO" & "I'M TOO SEXY..."

Remember paint by numbers? Use the designated colors and don't go outside the lines.we've seen it in other genres of music, and art in general. What about film/books?The monsters, the Machine gun heros and their helpless-turn-helpful wenches vs. An evil bastard with bad humor, sitcom scenarios like "truth about cats&dogs", and the ordinary person who knows too much and finds a way into extraordinary situations-a tribute to all the vigilante law students, hair dressers, homemakers, teachers, and teenage punks who know a lil too much about computers. If you like it, you can keep it, and likewise, you can keep the drum rolls, silly ass 303 loops, and filler bass lines. 'nuff sed. Ever Timeless Tracks To Me; 1984 soundtrack by Eurythmics Excursions in Ambience #1 v/a esp. Sub Sub D-Xplete by Dan Curtin Subconscious Awareness by Dan Curtin I will never tire of my Stan Getz cd on the Verve series (#8, i think). Orlando soundtrack Planet Dub (planet dog) v/a fine examples of good music on the topic of this list; i know it's 1/2 assed, but ... Strange Brew -can't remember the track, but you'll find it on Rob's Recs Edge Records ain't 1/2 bad. Fila Brazilia flare-reference to difference----ACE! (actually a lot of Sublime material is) ok i'm done, ciao, Cathryn Sunday sundayc@math.csuohio.edu It's allready been done.

Hi again, Thanks to Cathryn for the info on Strange Brew...I've only got one 12" from them and it's a promo with no info other then the track listing. Oops, I just looked inside the sleeve an found a xerox copy with a picture of a monkey on it: Strange Brew dream theory swagman like tommorow Mindfood records - 312.666.0973 mindfood@wwa.com This is one of the best trip-hopie/flip flopie releases I've got in quite a while!

Sorry everyone, but I happen to like most of Icee's stuff...it must be the breakdancer in me! It's not my fault I wear adidas shelltoes and baggie pants ;)

I've allways been nuts about that track! After searching for years, I found a copy of SubSubs LP, 'Full Fathom Five'. Wow, it's horrible. 9 other track, and non-sound even remotely like 'past'. Sounds like Dee-lite meets Ultramarine but add more cheese... over and out, brock np: Sabers of Paradise - 'Haunted Dancehall'
