Just got back from Denmark staying in a hotel that was running a self promo channel using elevator music in the background. Suddenly realised that this background was...dramatic pause... Bu Bu Bu ba from Expert Knob Twiddlers. The wierd thing is it seemed to fit quite well but has probably ruined it for me, how the hell does a hotel in Denmark get hold of something like this???? R

Well, unless it was the exact piece from the album, I suspect that a lot of sounds and structure were "borrowed" from other elevator friendly tunes. I was on the telephone holding for the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles once, listening to the cheesy muzak, when, what should they play but "Lift" by 808 State! At first I thought "Why would they muzak 808 State?", but then I realized 808 State must have lifted (ouch!) the melody from a muzak tune. Of course, these days 808 State writes their own muzak.
