Oh for god's sake! ... Definitely not! I spend a lot of money at Modern Music because it's one of the few places that carry the stuff we talk about and they have a great web site and excellent mail order. I think it's appropriate to give credit where credit it due, it's a great store and belongs on this list perhaps even more than the whiners (it's our music, you can't touch it, I am lonely, etc...). I'm looking forward to dealing with Alan (what happened to pj?). The music on this list is difficult enough to find without inventing criticisms of who/what/when/where... Is anyone else somewhat concerned with the list moderator becoming a salesperson for a record store that has done an alarming amount of self-promotion on the list. I think he should offer free CDs to anyone who has managed to stay on this list for more than one (1) year without ever giving in to the temptation to spew flaming obscenities. With properly applied bribery, we will willingly forgive any indiscretions. Reminds me of a pretzel vendor in Philly. He ran for president of the U.S. a few times. 1. Administrator, not Moderator. He's the guy who has to figure out why some brain dead mail agent in Swindon is bouncing 50 copies of the same name, and handle subscription and unsubscription request from people who can't or won't read instructions. 'Moderation' means he decides what the content of the list is, and in my 3 years hear I don't remember AMP squelching ANYONE! 2. AMP tells us when he's got hard-to-find stuff, and i hadn't noticed any ALARMING self-promotion. He's been pretty restrained even on promoting THREADS, the IDM compilation CD, and he has his own cash tied up in that! 3. Integrity? Hoo Hah! You want the DMI (Dance Music with Integrity) not IDM list. N.B. I wrote, then deleted, a little mini flame to Lance, but flaming is for newbies, right? I leave it as an excersise for the reader to determine just how witty, cutting, erudite and crude it was. P.S. IDM has TWO AMP's.
