Coldcut et al. do it AGAIN! Ntone CD9 Transcend: 2005 Coldcut: Cymatic Frequency Joanna Law: First Time I Saw Your Face [ silky cheese that works! :] Neotropic: Weeds Path: Gather Journeyman: 50cc Transcend: 2003 Drome: Hypobank (Rmx) MLO: Sleeper Bogus Order: Zen In Africa Hex: Dubmunculus Real Life: Shark Dance Alien Community: s/t Space Time Continuum: Pressure Hex: Harmonic Purr: Float On Yumm...this is VERY EXCELLENT imho. Lots of variety: d'n'b, ambient, trip h**,cheese, samples, and some detroity stuff, and, oh yeah, IDM. Well mixed by Coldcut. This WOULD get a party GOING!!! (maybe its just that its Friday) (and then make 'em trip out) The *only* problem is that it is one long track without division (as you would expect a dj-mixed track to be.) I was the one that started the thread on the Objet's d'Art 92-95 comp. Even a whole week later than my first post, I'd have to say that this is the BEST comp of IDM that I have EVER purchased. Highlight the *I* bit, underline the "D" bit, and emphasize the "M" bit :) And, you can probably get it at Modern Music or Bent Crayon. I would highly recommend either for availability AND user-friendliness. Have a nice w/e: its warm and humid in New Orleans. Jim Up next: Logical Progression comp alt-F-X ++dr. z Music is the KEY!

Coldcut et al. do it AGAIN! Just to add my two cents to this review, I picked up a copy of this disc and rushed home to try the interactive that is available with the disc called 'Tonetrakker'. You MUST pick up this disc if you have a multimedia PC or Mac. The interactive is nothing short of brilliant. It is a bank of three CD mixing decks (which look like some kind of strange hybrid 1200/CD players), with a pile of CDs at the bottom of the screen. The CDs are actually samples from the album, and elsewhere. You drag the CDs onto the various decks, and they play. Each one of the CD players has a volume control, allowing you to change the mix around to your liking. It gets better: You can drag multiple (ie: up to 5) 'CDs' onto EACH deck, and they will play 'A/B/A/B', or A/B/C/A/B/C, depending on how many you drag onto each deck. It will sometimes take a bit to sync up all the various samples, but the creation of grooves is an extremely satisfying experience, and all the samples are wicked. It gets even better. There are in fact three SETS of screens, each containing three distinct sets of about 15-20 samples to fiddle with. So you have a trip hop/breaks/whatever section, a housey/technoish section (I'm glossing here), and a slower dubby section. The liner to the CD says you can find the software at their website, but I looked for a while and was unable to find it to direct all a youse to the site. In any case, I highly recommend you pick up the disc, as it will provide you and your friends with hours (or an hour, depending of the attention span of you and your friends) of beated enjoyment. That's all now, time for pie.

howdy, I recentry got ntone's 'tone tales from tomorrow too'. It was CD plus-interactive for mac & pcs. it goes without saying that including cold cut's 72 mins ambient mixed up. I'm highly recomended for CD-ROM section, if you can. It will be all kinds of ninja mixed up... ps I went to ninja/ntone hq two years ago. It was 'techno park'... pps You can check the *original* ninja W3, if you interested... http://www.sphere.ad.jp/ninja/e-index.html ...!?
