Could somebody shed some light on a Richard H. Kirk project called 'Molemen'? Also does anyone know about an upcoming Meat Beat Manifesto record? I'm not sure whether that should be classified as IDM, but I am very fond of Jack Dangers' aural collaging skills. Thanks...Nate

I have also been wondering what holds the new MBM album. I«ve heard rumours about it for about a year now... Regarding the MBM is/isn«t IDM thing... Maybe they rely more on sampling than the usual IDM artists, but on the other hand, I wouldn«t call them exactly hip-hop, techno, dub or industrial either. I would say that Intelligent Dance Music describes them pretty good... Mute's mailing list mentioned that it would be out sometime this year, of course no specific date.

If you listen to the track on the last Trance Atlantic comp called Simulcra Part 1, I would have to say it falls into that IDM realm. Dangers said in an interview that the new album would be relying heavily on eletronics rather than sampling. I think he is taking a new direction with his music though that's always been the case with him. I'd have to say MBM is definitely one the unique ones. Anyway that's my 2 cents and of course IMHO, as always. Ross Volition Inc

Here here I totally agree... in fact it's a well known fact that the drum-line from "Radio Babylon" went onto to be sampled into two new techno classics. MBM album is very good dont think its really idm on the first disk (at least not the lyrics) 2nd disk is very good after you listen to it a couple of times. kyle
