yes indeed if you havent got the LP get it today its a landmark record on the cd there are two extra trax that you need!! this is a growing and slightly irritating trend, putting the ambient trax on the cd only!! Also check all his other stuff The Elemental from 94 was the first one i heard and it's a classic arguably the first ambient jungle tune The remix of Soulslingers 'Abducted' is amazing too tho much more fierce 'The Self Evident Truth' LP is shooting up the chart here in the UK crossing over to the techno and ambient scenes it also has some nice samples of Flying High ... (ha ha ha ) Mutant Jazz has been one of the biggest records of the year on the ambient, jungle, AND trip hop scenes and must have sold more than most top 30 records. Mark is a 28 y.o. head whos totally on the vibe This is the record that will convert many thousands it fuses techno, ambient and jungle in new ways that are a hint of new music as yet undreamt. I guess some purists will be horrified by this! But Mark has been making these trax since 91 and has widespread respect on the underground where it counts. He's going to be a major force in 96 mixmaster morris PS - if anyone thinks this belongs on breaks list only - fuck you! You cannot deny the intelligence any longer On now : Mirage (Odysee 004) - another label that's essential -------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- GLOBAL CHILLAGE the new LP from IRRESISTIBLE FORCE out (USA) 31/5/95 --- --- WAVEFORM / NATURAL FREQUENCY remixes 12" out now on Astralwerks --- --- AURAL EXPANSION 12" - remixes by MMM out now on Crammed Discs --- --- --- --- check out A SITE FOR SORE EARS ..... the MMM WWW server --- --- --- --- http://www.southern.com/MMM/homepage.html (in the uk) --- --- http://www.mit.edu:8001/people/trellos/homepage.html (in the US) --- --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Andrew... freq nasty is a nu skool breaks and electro artistwho has been around for about 5 years now....used to do D & B on sour records and has had several releases on Botchit and Scarper....I play nu skool and am also a huge IDM fan (obviously)....the two genres go together wonderfully in that they are both very production (skill) and emotionally oriented.... anyways if you're into the electric kingdom stuff you should check out:

Hmmm, speaking of which, T Power seems to be very involved in the Botchit & S. compilations (and also used to be on S.O.U.R). I adore all his earlier work (Self-Evident Truth is one of those outstanding releases that I deeply cherish), but his more recent work is totally Jungle. Just musing... Actually if you're into the dark breaks/electro tip you should check a few of the newer t power things (though i think he regergitates himself a lot) tracks like "Funk dental hygeine" on botchit and his rmx of freq nasty's move back are both solid dark tunes @ about 130bpm..... peace.. jeremy _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. I listened to a recent T-Power single.. which I'm guessing is off this new 3LP... Given the strong presence of the female singer, I'm guessing T's going for a more pop route these days. The music had T-Power's trademark NuSkool punch to it, but there wasn't any instrumental remixes on the single, so I didn't pick it up... (Nothing against soulful singers, but I prefer to not have them on top of the kind of music T-Power does..) Is this what to expect from the 3LP? Or is this single a shining gem in comparison to the rest? ======================================================================= Brian MacDonald <brianm@kuci.org> ======================================================================= On Mon, 26 Feb 2001, Ethan wrote:

It's a good piece of work. Not exactly a good listening album though. The tracks are tracky, range from hiphop to breaks & electro. I think the tracks are fun to play with, and the whole album is definately better than the Cuba 12" (he recycles the bassline from Cuba on the track with buckfunk anyway) -------------------------- I listened to a recent T-Power single.. which I'm guessing is off this new 3LP... I'm reviewing the full-length for a magazine so I won't go into full detail, but I found the album very listenable. I think it's his best since "Self Evident Truth" and it is an album as opposed to a singles collection. kent williams -- kent@avalon.net http://www.cornwarning.com -- Iowa's First Techno Record Label http://www.mp3.com/chaircrusher -- tunes On Tue, 27 Feb 2001, Peter Lasell wrote:
