Good People, Can someone let me know if Wax Trax ever released the Nightmares on Wax cd? It was in their latest catalog but I've never seen it in stores. While I'm at it, did TVT ever release the new EBN cd? Thanks - MC - Mark B. Conklin (MC) - mbconkli@ilstu.edu

Are you speaking of the first one? Circa ~91 or so? I've got it. Do they have a new one coming out? I've also got most of the NoW CD singles.

According to Greg Eden's excellent Warp discog NoW's new album 'Smoker's Delight' are scheduled for a tentative June release (but you never know with Warp :) ). Their track on the 'Headz' comp was taken from the album as you may well know. Weekend is near ... It's now got a July 7th release date if I remember correctly. It's in the all new WWW discog which will go up as soon as I can find a free PC in this place. The reasons for the delay on Smokers are A) One of the guys (George) got pneumonia in Goa and has been tres ill. B) They had trouble with sample clearance. New WARP things to look out for in the near future. Richard H. Kirk - "The Number Of Magic". (Funkier than Virtual State.) Out in July. Red Snapper - Funky jazz stuff (or something) The Press release says "this ain't TRIP HOP" so make what you like of it ! greg The Official WARP Web Site 3 0 3 http://www.ncl.ac.uk/~n264671/wap-indx.html

ah, but you forget that before their downtempo/carboot soul kinda stuff, they were one of the defining "bleep" acts -- which is to say, they actually represent a time when IDM and "dance music" weren't yet so separated. that's something i'd like to see a return to... but i guess trying to resurrect the feeling of that particular period is beside the point, given how impossible it would be in the current climate. i'm sorta surprised warp didn't get more traction with their "influences" release a year or two back. given that rave nostalgia is coming back (see recent piece on 'ardcore revival in the guardian), one wonders if they should try something in that vein again. phil
