In a local record store I've found a disc by Coco ... (something, I don't remember the full name) called "It", and has been released on Warp Records in 1994. Is this any good? _______________________________________________________________ Ulrich Seldeslachts hw42408@is1.vub.ac.be Student Communicatiewetenschappen Vrije Universiteit Brussel home phone 0/32/16.46.08.53 fax at request ________________________________________________________________

Coco Steel & Lovebomb. Coco is Chris Mellor, the editor of UK dance mag "DJ". The album is a mixture of NY-influenced handbag-house, and dubby and chilled ambient. I quite like it - there's some good stuff on there. It's well produced but some of the house stuff is pretty repetitive. It makes a change from the Aphex/mU-ziq style of things, but it's hardly a classic. If your tastes do extend beyond IDM/techno into the realms of house and ambient, and the price is moderate, try it. I'd give it 3/5 For guidance, I have just come up with a completely unbiased rating system :-) 0=drivel (2 Unlimited) 1=rough (B Hannant - Sculptured) 2=ok (Rhythm Invention LP) 3=cool (this one) 4=great (Hardfloor - Respect) 5=classic (Gescom EP)

????? Only if you don't like to dance If you do, it contains THE classic dance anthem of the 90's: "Feel It" along with "You can't Stop the groove". Admittedly the singles are better. After all, if you were in a club with two rooms, one of which was playing Aphex and the other playing CS&L, there's no question in my mind which room would be empty.

Good question. coco Steel & lovebomb"s 2x12" "IT" was released in early summer of 94. Really good tracks, feel good trancey house material. Some more spacey tracks, but not deep space ambient or anything. I thought this was a bit of a different release for Warp, but so was Haunted Dancehall. You may want to listen to this one before buying it. and the singles which came form this album suck... wimpy house music. Robi@innerplane c546488@cclabs.missouri.edu

Its Coco Steel and Lovebomb and it's O.K., the tracks vary from cilled out, soulful, house with ambient textures to sort of minimal lightly trancy progressive house stompers like "feel it" and "work it" and another that doesn't have "_____ it" as the title. there is one particularlly coooll track called "Harlem" that is about 8 minutes of sounds on a busy city street. obviously trying to emulate harlem. It's nice with a mans voice talking jibberish and a little horn riff throughout. #@*^&*&!$^%*
