Part of the setlist for a set I played in Cambridge at an IDM night recently: boards of canada - oscar see through red eye // the campfire headphase // warp bjork - all is full of love (funkstorung rmx) // fatcat compilation radiohead - everything in its right place // kid a // emi (with boards of canada - nlogax // hi scores ep // skam, kraftwerk - radioactivity // the mix // emi, new order - blue monday // substance // emi) new order - blue monday // substance // emi ulrich schnauss - on my own // a strangely isolated place // cco I got cheered when both the Radiohead and New Order tracks dropped (the Radiohead thing is a bit of simple Live live remixing, but it sounds quite nice...), which surprised me a bit (in a good way) - because I thought I was being a bit cheeky playing those to that crowd. I reckon you can get away with murder, really, as long as you can dance to it and it's not *too* far from the expectations of your audience. - andrew / covert -- http://www.lexical.org.uk/ | http://covertmusic.com/ "oh why don't you don't you don't you / stay glued to your TV set?" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
