You're full of FUD, I see(k). You can copy the songs/authorize up to five different computers (Windows PC or Mac). That means you can PLAY THE MUSIC ON FIVE DIFFERENT COMPUTERS. If you sell your computer, it's trivial to copy them to a new computer and re-authorize them. http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/authorization.html You can also burn unlimited CD-Rs of your music and copy them to unlimited iPods, if you choose. You can stream the music to other users on your network, as well.

A lot of players don't play Ogg files. Why should they? Ogg Vorbis has a very small market share. While *I* personally would like to see Ogg support since it's open source, there's no incentive for Apple to do so. Why, you ask? Because of aforementioned minute market share of the Ogg files, and because AAC is just as good quality, if not better. The iPod also supports regular plain-jane mp3 format, as well as AIFF, Audiobooks, WAV and Apple Lossless (which is similar to FLAC/Ape). It's funny you mention "ur likely to regret it" by buying an iPod... Is that why Apple has over 70% of the entire mp3 market (including those cheap Flash players)? And is that why Apple's iTunes Music Store also has over 70% of the entire legal mp3 download market? -- Mr. Tangent [the binary police] www.mrtangent.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
