hello, I've only heard the first Soul Center CD so I can't compare with the newer stuff you mentioned, but it is, in my opinion, the worst thing Brinkmann's ever released, that I've heard at least. It just seemed really forced, this mish mash of badly put together R&B samples with a significantly less interesting accompaniment than most of his other work. I highly prefer his slightly more abstract stuff as "Ester Brinkmann," especially the "Totes Rennen" release which uses a similar approach to Soul Center, in that it loops a lot of samples over a minimal accompaniment and rhythm track, but for whatever reason it just seems to work a lot better. Also, the Ernst singles (mostly compiled onto the "Rosa" CD) are really great. Are the 2nd and 3rd soul center releases similar to the first, or has it improved? Am I missing out on something by judging the whole batch based on the first of the releases? _________________________________________________________________ Join the world?s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
