[idm] OT- Question about MIDI and Roland SP-202

Hello all, I have a question; my roomate is wanting to sell his Roland SP-202 sampler for a dirt cheap price. It doesn't really do a whole lot but it does have a MIDI-in input. Even though I've been an electronic musician for 4 years, I have never used MIDI and know very little about it. This is what I want to know: can I make my keyboard, which is MIDI compatible and has both MIDI in and out ports, control the samples in the SP-202? i.e. a synth pad is in bank 1 and I use the keys to trigger both the sample and the pitch and duration. Any help would be very appreciated. John __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Send FREE Valentine eCards with Yahoo!
