My husband suggests making a foam sandwich / foam cushion, to
get it off the floor (about 6 inches worth in thickness) - other than
that create a false floor with a gap of space between the speakers
and the 'real' floor - but obviously this is not viable in your situation.
Is it a wooden floor or concrete? If it's wood, you're worse off,
apparently. In fact, the whole room becomes a speaker box if the
floor is wood, and passes the low frequency sound through the
sturcture and makes it resonate, and there's NO WAY ROUND THAT.
If it's a concrete slab, put it on the foam cushion to prevent
structure-borne sound radiation.
Good luck!! We all have this same problem (leaking sound,
complaining neighbours, bass transfer).
