in the far off uk trance has been going for years as early as 89.( i think). as far as psychedelic trance that i know has been going on for years. i used to go to free parties allover london and things like altered states at heaven. as far as i know trance is uk thing and has been picked up all over the world. the tribal thing i completely get as it is part of the trance scene here. i think that about religion and culture trance existed as in the way medecine men used to get mashup on some kind of acid like substance in order to have visions etc...musicwise i'd say that the trance scene has been greatly influenced by real tribal activities.
