sticking toilet paper in your ears is actually _worse_ than nothing at all
- the paper provides very little or no protection from hearing loss and
can exacerbate the problem by holding open your ear canal, which would
normally constrict when under sonic assault. if you want to protect your
hearing, you should be wearing earplugs with at least a 26db noise
reduction rating.
