well, i'll be damned if devo and kraftwerk aren't every bit as dancable as public enemy, if not more...not to try to take away from PE's brilliance, to to refer to it as "dance music" is sorta wrong, and kinda misses the point steve

8/11/00 Dear friends, In my humble opinion, the first 'lectronic intelligent dance music was produced by the Bomb Squad (courtesy of the brothers Shocklee). Didn't it all start with "Yo, Bum Rush the Show!" in 1986? Kraftwerk was way intelligent, as was Devo... but dance music? _My Uzi Weighs a Ton_ still freaks me out with it's brilliance. Can I get a witness? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
