Monolake and Porter Ricks are two entirely different groups
with different members - Monolake is Robert Henke & Gerhand
Behles and Porter Ricks is Thomas Koner & Andy Mellwig.
Monolake really havent dont any other tracks that resemble
Static - that shuffle beat is excellent. Fragile, the other side of
that ep, is probably more representative of Monolake's sound.
If you want an a Monolake album that varies from the familiar
Basic Channel/Chain Reaction sound, I recommend their
Interstate cd. That one has a nice almost electro tinge to it.
The Gobi ep is also cool but that is more of a beatless ambient
release. The others releases on Din & Chain Reaction would
have that "Porter-Ricks-sound" that you dont seem too keen
on but personally I love the early Monolake releases.
Monolake releases:
. Monolake: arte 12" (Din)
. Monolake: cyan i + ii 12" (Chain Reaction)
. Monolake: lantau 12" (Chain Reaction)
. Monolake: magenta 12" (Chain Reaction)
. Monolake: hongkong cd (Chain Reaction)
. Monolake: interstate cd (Monolake)
. Monolake: tangent 12" (Monolake)
. Monolake: gobi - the desert cdep (Monolake)
On a related note, there will be a new Monolake ep released
next month called "Stratosphere.ice"
You can hear samples from Stratosphere.ice along with most
of the other Monolake releases at:
