Hi, two week ago I asked for recommendations for IDM that can be put in the
dancefloor. I didn´t get much feeback; there were just LOTS of people
telling me: "hey, when you get a good list of danceable IDM send it to me!".
I don´t know if my question was wrong or if IDM is mostly for listening (as
Hyperreal´s definition of IDM).
The "list" of artists/albums/labels of IDM for the dancefloor so far is:
Vladislav Delay (Chain Reaction)
Monolake
Mike Ink
Plastikman
Thomas Brinkmann
Mouse on Mars (A- Musik)
Boards of Canada
Niena (Mille Plateaux)
Autopoieses (Mille Plateaux)
Scorn
Funkstorung
Schematic
Porter Ricks (Chain Reaction)
Richard Devine
Burger/Ink
Photek
Label: Fals (sub label of Mego)
Label: Kompact
Label: Tresor
Label: Submerge
Label: Basic Channel
Label: Chain Reaction
Label: Mille Plateaux
Label: Plate Lunch
Label: Rastermusic (label from Carlsten Nicolai a.k.a. Noto)
Album: Mouse on Mars - Autoditacker (A - Musik)
Album: Farmer´s manual (Mego)
Album: Squarepusher - Selection 16
Album: String Theory - Tevatron
I post this list for the people that is rather new in the Intelligent music
stuff like me (I had been listening to the "other" electronic music... maybe
called "dumb" for many years).
Maybe my question should be: can anyone recommend INTELLIGENT
artists/albums/labels for the dancefloor (like intelligent drum & bass /
jungle, Minimalistic, etc...)? I´m sure there must be plenty of IDM for the
dancefloor.
There are a lot of subscribers to the list. Can you guys please enlighthen
the path to the rather new people in this list? We just want some
recommendations.
I´m sorry if someone hates me for asking this, but ALL of us were newbies
sometime.....
Kindly regards
Guido
