I have to disagree here. Nothing is more frustrating than reading one
of the idm zines that are out there and reading through 50-100 reviews
w/o one bad one in there. Many of these reviews are for "micro-label"
releases and they all get glowing praise.
Now we all know that there's a lot of crap out there and I think when
everybody just pats eachother on the behind all the time it does everyone
a diservice (well, maybe everyone but the artist and the reviewer who
will of course get future products in the mail). Why not just print the
stuff on the press release while you're at it?
remember, its called 'criticism' for a reason.
