The very earliest records in the warp catalogue were housey, in that early-90's-UK-acid-house vein. They put out a lot of 12" of Richard Kirk's dancier fare. Warp's preoccupation with broken-radio noises and incoherent breakbeat is a relatively recent phenomenon. (i.e. Autechre, Squarepusher, and I like those records despite my description)
