Funkstorung sound like Ae inasmuch as they were inspired by them. However,
Funkstorung was doubtlessly influenced by a number of people, and it shows.
I think Ae and Funkstorung complement each other well, rather than
Funkstorung being a mediocre send-off of Ae's work.
On days when I grow tired of Ae's mind-bogglingly complex rhythms and
often-soulless mechanical feel, I put on Funkstorung (or other MAS acts),
and am quite relieved.
