I don't think I caught that particular ad, but I've seen/heard plenty of similarities between car ads and popular songs. The one that sticks out in my mind the most is a Toyota ad I saw a year or two ago that ripped the melody from Go West, almost note for note, with some _very_ minor alterations. I've also noticed that the drum-n-bass staple breaks seem to be creeping their way into more and more ads, segues between shows, and other short clips on TV. There's even a local radio ad that just blatantly samples the first 30 seconds or so of a track off Logical Progression. (It's one of the bell-laden, whispy intros... oh, they're all like that... oh well. :) wason: Public Enemy- It Takes A Nation Of Millions...
