I am a firm believer in the global cleaning qualities of benzine (oops, there's also benzEne, never know which is which, one of them's heavily toxic to inhale) for the removal of price tags and sticky labels. I was very surprised recently buying 2nd hand CD's from a shop, to see the assistant take out a bottle of stuff called MIRROR GLAZE and proceeding to give the disc a regular *polish* - anybody heard of this or know whether it's safe? I remember advice to use toothpaste to polish out scratches since it is abrasive - but just HOW abrasive can you get when treating CD surfaces? The fact that the Basic Channel CD continued to play with a crack running right through its entirely, never ceases to amaze me, especially if some CD's that appear to look perfect, regularly stick and skip.
