Correct about De La Soul (yikes, is 89-90 old skool?) , but the original
sample (3 that's the magic number) was lifted from one of those old
Schoolhouse Rock tunes they used to play on Saturday morning TV (you
know, like "verb, that's what's happenin'" and "lolly, lolly, lolly get
your adverbs here") . Those that don't remember schoolhouse rock were
probably born apres 1978.
