There are so many ways to organize "lugubrious, murky, atonal" material so that you get some sense of overall coherence and purpose. Unfortunately I couldn't hear that kind of structure at all.

I suppose _The Destroyer_ might qualify. _Hypermodern Jazz 2000.5_, by contrast, sounds incoherent on the surface but -is- quite coherent once you dig in deeply enough. --Mark
