Does anyone know of any idm artists/albums that use a signifigant amount of
violin or other stringed instrument samples? A good example of the kind of
thing that I'm looking for would be "Into the fourth dimension" off of The
Orb's Adventures through the Ultraworld. Thanks in advance.
Second of all...
I am beginning to regret starting that thread about commercialism in
general. Seems that now almost every member of the list feels a moral
obligation to put in their .02 on commercialism in a 27 page message. Some
people have started trying to define art in the posts?!? Sigh...oh well (I
guess I am just as guilty as everyone else)
Third of all...
In reference to the argument of the purpose of art, I enclose a fragment of
a conversation with an artist friend of mine...
Eric: What would you say if someone asked you 'what is the purpose of art'?
Gene: I would probably hit him.
I hope that clears up the issue on whether art is communication or to
entertain the artist.
