I'm sure as hell glad that there's a place I can go where people have
the same WARPed out sense of music as I do...most people have a bad
REPHLEX-type reaction to IDM. Example:
Went to Grooveriders today (thursday = UPS day!) with my copy of
AMP...told'em "you guys gotta check out this 'Second Bad Vilbel' video,
it's the shit. put it on now!" So they put the tape on the big monitor
hanging from the roof, FFWD thru the first couple of videos, stop on
Underworld and say "ooooohhhh". I say "no,no, not that, go on
further". They get to Autechre and hit play...
Guess what happens now?
All the househeads look up and go "what the fuck is this, a new 'Nine
Inch Nails' video?"
They let the video play, my friend says "that's nice" and less then 30
seconds later, everyones back to the bins, looking for the latest cheesy
deep house 12".
Oh well, simple minds like simple things (or however that goes).
What the hell can you do?
I'll say it again...I'm glad this list is here, I'm glad that there's a
bunch of cool, crazy cats out there to geek out with, and I'm glad I'm a
part of it!
