*** News from the wicked world of techno-house ****
--------------->>>> New Vinyl <<<------------------
* Christian Vogel "Body Mapping" (TRESOR 45, 1996)
Christian's new album as an innovative mixture between
techno, house and experimental/progressive styles.
Very refreshing. It's wild, crazy, minimalistic and groovy
with a touch of soul. It's a pleasure to listen to it.
9/10
* Missing Channel Submerged (Hardwax, HX-008, 1996)
As I tried to get Robert Hood's new THE VISION release on
Metroplex, I was informed, that this 12" is also made by
Hood. And yes, it's sounds like him but there is more house
in it as on his M-Plant releases. It's even FUNKY!
8/10
* M6 (Basic Channel, 1996)
Maurizio is continuing is way of M4, M4.5 and M5. A phat
groovy house-beat with minimal changes. Good as always but
sooner or later Maurizio should develop some more variation.
His releases on Main Street are more interesting.
7/10
* Vainqueur "Reduce 1/2" (Chain Reaction, CR-06, 1996)
After the great CR-05, this is another good release. Minimal
techno-house in the known BC style and it's not too strange
to play it and to dance to it.
8/10
* Vainqueur "Elevation" (Chain Reaction, CR-07, 1996)
This vinyl is another one for my chill-out collection.
While CR-04 Monolake had a least some mimal drums, this 12"
goes without any. So sit back an relax.
4/10
* S.R.I. "Grand Slam" (NTA 010, 1996)
Another release by Sweet Reinhard (Profan/NTA), the brother
of Mike Inc. On the one hand typical Sweet Reinhard style
(somehow funky) as you can hear it on his Profan-Releases
and on the other hand some new elements like electro.
8/10
and finally I got my copy of:
* Jeff Mills Mix-Up Vol.2 (Sony, 1996)
What a pleasure to listen to this document of mix-culture.
It feels like being there live and direct with him, watching
him working. The best mix-cd I've heard until now.
10/10
that's it for today... tomorrow I am on a Profan-Label-Party
in Cologn with Mike Inc. and Sweet Reinhard.
Have a good time,
harald
