I wasn't questioning any connection between the above artists. Any
connection that exists is simply of no interest (to me) and I'm amazed that
people find any real connection between Prince's "genius" and IDM.
I've heard all eras of Prince and he's gone from mediocre (1999) to
truly horrid (these days). I fully intend on checking out the Squarepusher
record though. Grant clarified saying he was throwing out names like
Prince, Corea and Public Enemy *at random*...so that bodes well for
the Squarepusher release (which initially sounded like it might be some
sort of amalgam of these artists influences). I'm sure the Squarepusher
album will be good if Rephlex's past track record is any indication of
things to come.
