Which can cross over. I can tote a hell of a lot more music around, without as much risk of damage with CDs than I can with vinyl. There are also the times when you do a commando party in the middle of a desert. Then the wind picks up and the needles won't stay on the tables, so all the vinyl DJs throw their hands up in the air. Take some shiny PWOG 5", put it down, and watch the dust fly. I like DJing CDs. I'm a computer geek. This argument however, is as old as the "cylinder vs. platter" debate from the early 20's scene.
