Now that is a definition of 'IDM'. Nicely put.
I would certainly be interested in others take on this. I'm finding that
most of what I am buying and enjoying as of late definitely fits into this
'category'. I'm Usually very impressed by people who come up with original
sound design and make it work well in a song, Phoenecia's Odd jobs cd and
the latest Plateau disk being good examples, as opposed to the 'hey look
what I can do with Pluggo'. Not to say that this is the be all end all of
genre defining. Its just seems to work pretty well in relation to my current
tastes.
