But beyond Genesis P. Orridge and Richard H Kirk the industrial connection to techno (IMHO) doesnt go any further than that...... OK! Finalesment, did anyone go to that Oscillate allnighter in the Que Club, Birmingham (England....). Stunning wasnt the word! Autchre and u-ziq played, and aside from Autechre's kind of uninspiring set (Repetitve beats to 'Flutter'! That cannot happen..i was so looking forward to going crazy with ticky sounds everywhere...) where most of their brilliant stuff on amber was either overlooked ("Montreal, Silverside") or mixed in with some odd sounding beats that didnt go well at all ("piezo" got totally trashed). u-ziq were downright brill and I swear Mike Paradinas is deliberately getting more into the cheezy 70s in-house brass band sound....most of the end of the set sounded more like human league crossed with some odd soap opera theme tunes and 70s movie soundtracks than anything else! Nevertheless, it was f!!!ing ace. PS Anyone figured out the track listing to "Bluff LImbo" yet or is that something I missed? As for the DJing - brill. Anyway, gotta fly..... Ok! darko (On NOW: "The Calling": APL)
