For those not in the know (like myself) can anybody give me some info on the CD Europe database and while we're at it, any good European Mail Order companies that specialise in IDM? Not American as i'm after videos, as well. Thanks. I ask because Australia really is a backwater when it comes to such music and when we do get it... we pay ridiculous prices if we want it quickly, eg's, I payed $69 (aus) for Aphex's SAW way before it got local release and I payed $55 for FSOL's Lifeforms before it got local release. Once they do get local release they usually sell for about $35 which is still steep and they don't get local release for a while (months) usually. :( Enough whinging... can anybody tell me when Autechre's new single Anti is being released (if it hasn't already?) and what does their album Incannabula (sp?) sounds like in comparison to their excellent Basscadet EP? Telnet cdeurope.com for CDEurope Telnet cdconnection.com for CDConnection Both are US-based mail-order services that allow you to inspect their catalogue online, and even place credit-card orders .... CDConnection is mainly for US releases CDEurope is for imports (mainly CD, but some vinyl). I've never used either service, so I can't comment further.... -cosmic

Not like it'd do you any good; CD Europe doesn't stock anything and their info messages explicitly say they *cannot* answer questions about anything in their catalog. -- Lazlo (lazlo@rt66.com)

Yep, I knew about CDConnection and i've since checked out CDEurope. CDEurope was good, but it didn't have any descriptions of what is on certain releases. I know I can just send them a message asking, but ear-rational also gives a short description which I find good. I like ear-rational better, but he doesn't have credit card facilities whereas CDEurope does... more dilemmas. :) Also I want the Orb's Textures & Patterns Video (PAL Format)! :) Regards, John /-------------------------------------------------------------------\ | JOHN BUS | | SNAIL - Digital Access | | Box 13, 7 Sagar Place North Ryde 2113 Australia | | EMAIL - John.Bus@syd.dcet.csiro.au OR turbo@twister.apana.org.au | \-------------------------------------------------------------------/
