Actually, I stumbled upon the Dark Continent EP yesterday and listened to it. I think it was ok, and I would have bought it if it hadn't been all scratchy. I especially liked the titletrack. So, how does Digital Lifeforms compare to the EP? And for those who aren't familiar with Xon, Xon is Richard Kirk and Robert Gordon. Their EP "the Mood Set" is a brilliant piece of idm. Very electronic abstract grooves, on the Network label. Buy it. But listen to it first, cuz it is a love/hate thing. Fredrik

I prefer DL to the ep, although "Orgasmatron" is excellent. Although I have no proof, I suspect the EP may represent extra material left over from the DL sessions. Does this have the track _dissonance_ on it? This appeared on a the 2nd biorhythm collection. Very good indeed! I relistened to it the other day and this track caught my ear... and lo and behold it turned out to be by sheffield gods Rob Gordon (Forgemasters) and Kirk. wow. greg 3 0 3

Yeah, it comes with Dissonance and another short track on one side (I forget the name, I'm not at home) and Midnight Express on the other. If you thought Dissonance was good, Midnight Express will melt your eardrums. Though I love seeing (hearing) him try, I really don't think Kirk has ever topped this release. I've seen Dissonance on a few comps besides the Biorhythms 2, and I think I recall Midnight Express on one, but I can't remember the name again. By the way, noone happens to know where I could dig up a cd or vinyl copy of Biorhythms 2 comp, do they? My disc was stolen right before I moved to San Francisco a couple years ago, and I haven't seen another copy since. I've seen vol. 1 on vinyl but not vol.2. jmar. you'll be surprised... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bandwidth Hogging via the kind courtesy of DesignLink FCBBS (1) 510 933 96 76 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ J M R T N K O D S G N E T C S F C A | t h e t h i r s t y f i s h . ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ John A. Wasn't "Midnight Express" (released 1979) the premier tune by the effenay #1 inventor of trance-techno, Mr. Giorgio Moroder? Is this track by Xon a cover of that track? No wonder it melts your ears. The original material was nuclear to begin with. ObIDM: I'm looking for some B-ART released on R&S circa 1988. Anyone got it and willing to part with it for fair compensation? It was also on BCM records as well. In particular, the lads over the pond could be most helpful here. I don't think that much of their stuff made into the states. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael King mike%delta1@rex.cs.tulane.edu Delta Systems New Orleans, LA 70002 Voice: 504.837.9835 Fax: 504.837.9838 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- How's my driving?
