I have Short Stories, it is marvelous. There are songs that are really
acidic and hard (mosh), some ambient (rota link, the enlightenment),
some midway between (peschi, ehn), and some songs are a mixture of moods
(event horizon, 1642 try 621). Steve Hebditch (sp?) at uk-dance gave
this album 5 stars out of 5.
Heres what Jon Drukman thinks:

When they say "a collection of short stories" they mean it
*literally*. The CD booklet contains a bunch of stories that go with
some of the tracks on the CD. Unfortunately, the short stories (and
the introduction) remind me of the pretentious "Creative Writing"
magazines I saw far too many of when I was in college. I majored in
English and the English Department building was always littered with
these rags. Invariably more for the enjoyment of the author than the
reader, I see the same annoying aesthetic at work here. And the most
damning part, for me, is that the stories don't go with the music *at
all*. So let's forget about them and just talk about the music.
It's, um, interesting. Hard to pigeonhole, which is always a good
thing. You've got your loud banging AFX-esque tracks like "Teq" and
"Mosh". You've got some very pretty melodic tracks with excellent
rhythm programming in "Ahn" and "Ehn". Then there's a suite of 4
tracks ("Rotalink" thru "Akzinor") which reminds me a lot of the
ambient pieces that Skinny Puppy used to do in the late 80's: dark
textures with rough edges and menacing industrial rhythms.
I don't really know what to make of this disc. There's a wide range
of textures and styles which shows that they definitely have their
shit together, but it doesn't really connect for me. Nothing jumped
out and made me want to hear it again. But it's good to see that
there are still people out there trying different things!

Sorry if this is redundant, I still have about 20 messages left to read
in my mailbox.
Can anyone comment on Auto Reload Vol. 2?
