I've put up my first song (“Sinusoidal tendencies”) made with Propellerhead's Record software, which I love just as much as Reason. I also have two Record beta invites that will go to the first two responders. http://monkeygra.webs.com/slessene.html This song wasn't actually made by recording anything; all sound is sourced from sine waves, hence the title. I'm aware it's very repetitive. I didn't spend very long on it. -- Kyle / Sleßene

You are using the Beta of Record?  Is it buggy?  Also, will it import pre-recorded audio tracks?  I have been using some freeware to build out a few pieces... but it is seriously limited.  I would be interested to hear your comments about Record. How well do you who create work with these "virtual hardware" sort of interfaces? I like to play with Reason occasionally, but it doesn't seem the most intuitive way to do things with a computer. I'd like simpler integration of external audio tracks with Reason without resorting to toying with Rewire, but the overabundance of virtual knobs and sliders turns me off. I didn't increase my creative output until I started using software built from scratch from the perspective of being used with a mouse and keyboard (Ableton Live; Mackie Tracktion), but I didn't get my start with actual hardware as many have. Thoughts? i.Dub On Wed, Jul 22, 2009 at 12:54, Bridget Selavie <djbridget@ymail.com> wrote:

It's actually not really buggy at all, but doesn't have some features that I would think would be "very important". It does import audio clips perfectly fine, but does not feature (or, at least, I haven't been able to find) altering the tempo of clips independent of the song (i.e. beatmatching) or free time stretching (free of tempo restraint). As I haven't actually used the recording feature yet (I don't have any devices to record from), it sort of feels for me more like Reason 4.5 than a separate piece of software, particularly as all Reason devices are fully integrated into Record, if, of course, you already own Reason. Hmmm It seems Records didn't changed anything in DAW's world. In my opinion it's just a move from Propellerheads to be set in this kind of market. Maybe I'm wrong. Why use Records when you are not a fair Reason user ? What Record do that Cubase, Protools and now Reaper don't ? Kyle Evan Schrock wrote:
