If anyone hasn't heard it yet, Black Dog's Further Vexations is out and it's
incredibly awesome!
I would describe it as a classic dark ambient Black Dog, very minimal
arrangements but with incredible sounds, perfectly tweaked percussion that
is exactly complex enough, exactly funky enough, and still somehow exactly
sober and straight enough.
The overall vibe ranges from low-key funky tech-house bits filled with dark
ambient sequences, infused with detroit synth sounds and Black Dog's
sounds-like-percussion-but-not beats, to blissful, deep, wandering ambient
with no percussion to be heard, just lovely waves of analog sound washing
over you.
Every bit as good as Radio Scarecrow, and still a progression, not just the
same thing on a new disc.
