Murkier subgenres like IDM and downtempo feel almost quaint. (Have you checked Hyperreal's IDM list lately? Well, Mr. Sherburne didn't see fit to opt for much infinity-in-variation with his own mnml debut, I must say. I'd slot it as sub-par run of the mill, instantly forgettable, wasted vinyl. Maybe a few ghosts could have inspired some life into it - ? jeff Alan Lockett wrote:

I think you just described 99% of "minimal techno" released after 2005. Didn't know he had released a minimal record, and I haven't heard it, but it's funny how these minimal folks are always telling everyone how dead their scene is when their aesthetic is the most soulless, sterile thing ever. w --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

sounds like a description of any "scene" once it becomes populated by people adhering to a style rather than doing their own thing or pushing the envelope. for my part, i happen to like senking's 'tap' and plastikman's 'consumed' very much. i have a pixel CD too. for a half second i was on a "collect all the raster-noton post series" kick. that ended quickly as i couldn't get into the clips i heard from the rest of it. d. i thought idm/electronica was supposed to be boring, so past it and dead since after AI 1 on Warp. I must have imagined all that output over the last 14ish years. I wonder why people are always saying its dead or dying. Alan Lockett wrote:
