This month's Ramp will feature members of the Pan-zen Konspiracy Netwyrk.
For those of you who do not know, Pan-zen is a loosely organized
experimental arts syndicate, born in PDX - USA in 1998. Utilizing a broad
spectrum of media to invoke spontaneous and ritually produced actions, the
PAN-ZEN Kabal communicates direct from the Otherground, through staged
events, temporary sites, teknivals, and sacred spaces. Pan-zen is
comprised of many members of Portland's electronic music community and
puts on extremely unique audio and visual productions/events ranging from
string bands and throat singers to gearheads and circuit benders. This
Ramp will feature gear... lots and lots of gear! Expect lush ambience with
driving dark rhythms as electricity gets bent into a unqiue aural
experience.
Plus, the night will end with a special guest appearance by
one of Ramp's founders from Chicago, Yard, who will play his hard driving
brand of banging techno!
At this special Ramp event, we will be asking for
donations to help Pan-zen put on the various summer outdoor festivals it
has done in the past. Gas generators don't run on air! Summer festivals
are what make the Northwest a great place to live and enjoy live
electronic music in serene surroundings. Donate if you can!
