Digital DJ: Beats and Loops (Ableton Live)
(1 Unit)
This course covers the history, equipment and
technique of loop-based music production. Tools
include popular software Ableton Live. Techniques
include sample manipulation, beat and tempo matching
and aesthetics of various loop-based music styles.
Students wishing to scratch their own beats and loops
on our Digital DJ RIG must also be enrolled in MRI 312
in the same semester.

This course covers the history, equipment and
technique of DJ turntablism. Techniques include the
manipulation of sound and creation of music using
traditional and digital turntables using various
styles and approaches. This class utilizes Stanton
Final Scratch and Native Instruments Traktor.
