You do realise that Vague Terrain is the name of Matmos's record label? Unless you have something to do with them, it's maybe not the best idea to name an experimental electronic event the same as that... creates a bit of confusion. If you are associated with them, fair enough, but I couldn't find anything to that point on the net. Neil Wiernik <neil@phoniq.net> wrote:

we are not all that stupid and it is some thing we have talked with matmos about directly and have thier blessing to use... in fact in thier words they dont have xclusive rights over the name ... we are not a record label as the vague terrain label is or a music side project (dont forget I am labelmates with them on piehead - I am well aware of the name use) ... vagueterrain.net is a digital arts journal and monthly digital art happening that not only includes digital audio projects but digital video, digital image based works, interactive digital art, netart, writtings, ideas and so on... its a very different entity from that of matmos's vague terrain project... a very common concept in digital art and digital culture isexaminig the concepts of owership in the virtual realm. a name is a name I would never have used the name for a music label fully knowing matmos uses it for that exact same thing but for a digital publication thats a different ball of wax... When I get to visit Toronto (yeah Piehead have even released some of theirs under the name "Vague Terrain", I recall!) I hope I'll be able to goto one of your events. Cheers.
