!Raves.com Review: LARRY KUCHARZ - BRIDGE MIX 37 LARRY KUCHARZ - BRIDGE MIX 37 (INTERNATIONAL AUDIOCHROME) Deep, blippy things that would be at home in Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon", speedy high percussion that would be at home in D and ethereal tones hanging behind - these are the sounds that will greet you on the opening track, "Dream 37", of Larry Kucharz's "Bridge Mix 37." Kucharz' effective minimalism and subtle genre-bending return on this newest collection of tracks from the always experimenting electronica artist. "Street 37" takes over from the opener with a pressing beat and fluttering layers, all seemingly independent yet producing a solid whole ... percussive, textured and unique. "Mood 37" leads off with more etherea, which quickly gives way to strong beats and goa-ish textures, while "Avenue 37" moves even deeper into goa territory, albeit with crisp high beats and a certain house flavor. Very deep. "Unfunky 37" continues a Latex Empire flavor with computer percussive stutterings intermingled. "Suite 37" is a little more conventional, a trance piece filtered through Kucharz's odd artistic sensibilities. "Precinct 37" mesmerizes with downtempo beats laid over ambient melodies and "Highway 37" combines pulsing beats and ambience, along with the signature high tone percussion. "Location 37" places a dark piano line at the center of its progressive house on Kucharz taste. "Beat 37" is a shifting, experimental textured romp and, finally, the disc concludes with "Route 37", an infectious, layered piece of techno pacing that provides the perfect closing note. Kucharz's compositions are distinct and original pieces, always interesting and engaging-- review by Kristofer Upjohn http://www.raves.com/cdreviews --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Armchair DJ Interview “CLASSICAL TO TECHNO TO CLASSICAL” Larry Kucharz interviewed by Brian J.
