electronic sounds & beats... everything from IDM glitchery to breakbeat
rave anthems. He's even made us smile w/ tracks titles like "Luke
Vibert can kiss my indie-punk whiteboy ass" and even "buffalo 606: the
morning after" on Ricci's Pieces EP. his distinct studio style has been
employed by such artists as Depeche Mode, Mount Sims and The Rapture to
name a few. He's also the head honcho at Tigerbeat 6 records.

. Here's the skinny on the Tan via a review of their new 12" Get Up /
Say What (DFA Remix) - New on DFA! Pixeltan consist of 2 members of
freeform hip hop group plate tectonics, and the recently departed
drummer of Black Dice. The project began in cahoots with DFA 3 years
ago, but tracks weren't completed until now. ?Get up / say what? is a 9
minute dfa remix / reblend of 2 original pieces that contain some
dubbed-out death disco cuts, while the flipside features the original
take of ?get up?, plus bonus cut ?that?s the way i like it?, a pounding
dancefloor cut with bassy, jumpy, jerky vibes. Check.

. What can I say about Tommie? all i know is that when he's made up his
mind to throw down a crazy dance set... what i call the "hot sauna"
effect happens... everyone usually ends up drenched in sweat and with
very little clothing on... apparently The Killers, The Faint,
Fischerspooner, & Mount Sims are all on the same sweaty page cause he's
remixed them all. sweating has never been more sexy!!
