Just in case anyone here's interested, here's a link to an article in the Detroit Free Press dealing with last weekend's Movement '04 (formerly DEMF) fest : http://www.freep.com/entertainment/music/move1_20040601.htm Incredible event, really - I've been there every year, every day since it started. Acts ranging from Autechre to Norma Jean Bell, Akufen, Kevin Saunderson, Tortoise, and everyone in between - all FREE and every year on Memorial Weekend. It seems like those in high places in this city never understand what they have in their midst; corporate sponsors and other businesses who gain by the international influx of visitors for the fest are scarce when it comes to sponsorship. Many of those going to the fest won't pony up the few bucks for a program or a button (the funds from which go to pay the bills). If you've ever been here for this, you know how amazing and inspiring it is to hear 4 stages blasting electronic signals against the Detroit skyline...and how tragic it is that it hangs by a wire. http://www.movementfestival.com/ (buttons are still available under the "support" section). jeff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
